1. Do you know a multilingual website of Japan Meteorological Agency?
Japan Meteorological Agency provides weather information in multiple languages as well as maps colored to show the level of risks for each type of disaster. Please register the URL in advance on your smartphone or other device so that you can quickly collect information on disasters expected to occur in Wakayama Prefecture such as earthquakes, tsunami, typhoons (tropical cyclones) and heavy rains.

2. Promote parenting that does not involve corporal punishment, etc.
In child rearing, hitting or yelling at a child under the guise of discipline is not only ineffective for the child's growth, but can rather have a negative impact. In addition, the Child Abuse Prevention Law clearly states that corporal punishment of children by parents is prohibited. Keep the following points in mind when facing your children.

(1) Do not use corporal punishment or abusive language in child-rearing
Even if parents believe that they are doing it "for the sake of disciplining their children," being hit by an adult can be very painful for children and can cause serious physical and mental damage. Let's all be determined not to hit or yell at children.

(2) Parents themselves should ask for help
When you feel frustrated in rearing your child, try to calm down in your own way such as by taking deep breaths. Also, instead of bearing the burden of child-rearing alone, ask your family to share the burden, or consider using various support services provided by local governments, NPOs, companies, etc.

(3) Support your child’s growth by understanding his/her feelings and behaviors separately
Saying “no” at the age of 2 or 3 means the child has come to have self-awareness and therefore it is a sign of growth. Listen patiently to your child's arguments, encouraging him/her own way of thinking and offering a helping hand when necessary.

If you have difficulties, do not suffer alone, but ask for help.
