In summer, people often play in the sea, rivers and other waterside areas.
To prevent accidents at the waterside, please follow the precautions below.
1. Check the weather conditions. If it is forecasted to be bad weather, do not take chances and consider canceling or postponing your plans.
2. In the sea or rivers, check the wave conditions, wind strength, water temperature, water flow, etc.
3. Pay attention to changes in the weather and rivers.
4. When swimming in the sea, please go to supervised beaches where lifesavers and lifeguards are present at all times.
5. Do not swim if you are not in good health or have consumed alcohol.
6. Always keep an eye on children.
7. Avoid areas with billboards indicating dangers, as well as areas with rapid water flow or deep water
8. Be careful when playing at riversides, on sandbars or in narrow areas of the river. Riverbanks and sandbars may become submerged by rapidly rising water.
9. Wear a life jacket.

It is important to consider as many "possibilities" as possible before playing in the water.

It can also make you careless and lead to accidents.
The Japan Coast Guard operates the emergency call number "118" for incidents and accidents in the sea.
When calling for rescue in the event of an accident in the sea, the person in distress should activate the GPS function of his/her cell phone and call 118 directly, allowing the Japan Coast Guard to receive their exact location for prompt rescue.
