◆ Those whose houses were damaged by the heavy rains that began on June 2, 2023 should obtain a Disaster Victim Certificate (risai shomeisho).

Municipalities can issue Disaster Victim Certificates to those whose houses were damaged by the heavy rains that began on June 2, 2023.

The "Disaster Victim Certificate" may be required to be eligible to receive various supports for disaster victims (benefits, loans, reduction/exemption of taxes/insurance premiums/utility bills, emergency repairs of damaged houses, etc.).

If you have suffered damages to your house due to an earthquake, windstorm, flood or other type of disaster, you can apply to your municipality for a Disaster Victim Certificate, and then the municipal officials will inspect your house to issue the certificate.
