◆Do you know how evacuation information will be delivered?

When evacuation information is issued by the municipality where you live, it will be delivered via TV, radio, the Internet as well as Disaster Administrative Radio System and publicity vehicles.
For example, if a Level 4 evacuation instruction is issued, the municipal authority will call for evacuation action in Japanese with the contents such as the following.

Example:
“Emergency Broadcast, Emergency Broadcast, Alert Level 4, Start Evacuation.
Emergency Broadcast, Emergency Broadcast, Alert Level 4, Start Evacuation.
This is XX City (Town/Village).
An Alert Level 4 “Evacuation Instruction” has been issued for the XX area due to a flooding risk.
The XX River is rising and there is an increased risk of flooding.
Please evacuate immediately if you are in a dangerous place in the XX area.”

In order to be able to evacuate safely in case of emergency, it is important to know what kind of disaster risks you face in your area. Make sure to check evacuation sites, safe evacuation routes, etc. on hazard maps.
