Aren’t you worried about giving birth for the first time in Japan? In Japan, you can consult with your local municipal office about where to give birth. When you tell the municipal office that you are pregnant, you will receive a Maternal and Child Health Handbook (Boshi Techo). This Maternal and Child Health Handbook will be used to manage the health of the mother and child when they see a doctor.
To ensure the health and safety of both mother and child, let’s check “Parenting Chart for foreign residents”. This chart provides easy-to-understand explanations on the process from pregnancy and childbirth to elementary school entrance of the children in multiple languages (plain Japanese, English, Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese, etc.).
